The Request
A company in Otemachi needed snack boxes for international guests attending a lecture, easy to eat while listening, with "something a little Japanese." From the first inquiry on our website, the contents were decided together in about a week.
Our Delivery
Easy to eat during a lecture
We centered the boxes on sandwiches familiar to international guests: BLT and egg (A) and teriyaki chicken and egg (B), each with a croissant, a fruit cup, a black-tea cupcake and a matcha cookie. The matcha cookie answered the request for "something a little Japanese"; a cupcake replaced a tart so it could be eaten while listening.
English stickers and an English menu
Each box carried a sticker — "Normal A", "Normal B", "Vegetarian" or "Vegan". We sent an English menu in advance, which the company also used to make the menu displayed at the venue.
Dietary Requirements
Vegetarian and vegan in the same order
Because not every guest's dietary needs were known in advance, we added two vegetarian boxes (vegetable and egg sandwiches) and two vegan boxes (vegetable sandwich, bagel, root-vegetable sandwich, salad, fruit and dried fruit instead of baked sweets).
Honest about limitations
Before ordering, we explained that nuts are handled in the same kitchen, so we cannot guarantee complete nut removal, and that we do not make rice-flour bread, so gluten-free options are limited to non-bread items.
